Plain Audio terms of use.
Plain Audio, shown as “Plain” on your device, is a free audio, podcast and read-aloud player for iPhone and Apple Watch, made by Revelis Labs LLC. These short terms apply when you use it.
Apple's agreement comes first
If you got Plain Audio from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement is your license to use it. These terms add to that agreement; they don't replace it or reduce any rights it gives you. If the two conflict, Apple's agreement wins.
Free, as is
Plain Audio costs nothing to download or use. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
To the extent the law allows, Plain Audio is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that it will be error free, always available, work with every podcast or file, or suit what you want to do with it. This doesn't take away rights you have under consumer laws that can't be waived.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Revelis Labs LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost files, listening positions or notes, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Plain Audio. Where we are liable anyway, our total liability is limited to fifty U.S. dollars ($50). Some places don't allow these limits, so they apply only as far as your local law lets them, and nothing here limits liability that the law says can't be limited.
Who can use it
You can use Plain Audio if you can agree to these terms where you live. If you are under the age of majority there, use it with permission from a parent or guardian.
Your content and data
Files, documents, recordings and notes you put in Plain stay yours; we claim no ownership of them. Plain stores this content on your devices and does not send it to us. Backups, exports and sharing may create other copies; see the privacy policy. Keeping copies of anything that matters to you is up to you.
Podcasts and other content
- Podcast feeds, artwork and episodes come directly from independent publishers you choose, and search results from Apple's public podcast directory. We don't host, sell, edit or endorse them, and we can't guarantee they are accurate, appropriate or available.
- That content remains the property of its rights holders, and their terms apply. Episodes may include their publishers' own ads.
- You are responsible for having the right to use the files and text you import. A podcast being public doesn't by itself give you permission to copy or share it.
Use it lawfully
Use Plain Audio only in ways the law allows, and don't use it to copy or share content you don't have the right to.
Ohio law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Franklin County, Ohio, unless Apple's agreement or the consumer law where you live gives you a different right.
Changes
We may update these terms. A change applies from its “Last updated” date onward, not to anything before. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page and in Plain Audio's App Store release notes before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can stop using Plain Audio and delete it.
